Gary Alt: Thoughts...

What do you think of the title Not For Sale To Minors?

We've gotten a lot of feedback on the title and cover art of the new CD. Mostly positive, but a few questioning it. The positive feedback was from folks who looked at the cover art and realized the tongue in cheek nature of it, and then took the time to figure out what the title meant. The dissenters seem to fall into the category of those who judge a book by its cover - which is almost always wrong.

What's your opinion? What does the title mean to you? And what does the cover art mean to you?

How can someone think a simple title means "parental advisory"? Doesnt the picture tell you this stuff is totally clean? Ill never understand people that make snap decision based on ignorance, even if they are bros. Great CD, Gary, keep em comin!

just checked out this site result of the radio interview last nite. nice music from what i heard. gary made it pretty clear that the idea of the title & cover is that this music is for everyone. kind of the opposite of the real title which is obviously tongue and cheek

Parental advisory? I didnt take it that way. Just the opposite. Think about it.

Um, I don't think this is a parental "advisory". I think its just artwork by the people who created the CD. The msg is about no censorship necessary.

why would you make something that has a parental advizery on it?

Its pretty obvious. adults create the slime with young folks in mind, then the censors come and declare it clean for some

I listened to the cd and couldnt find anything morally lethal for any age group - maybe the disenters havent listened yet - maybe they never will

I get a sense of reverse psychology. Like, "You're not allowed to have this, so you want it." The baby arresting the cop is just a cool eye catcher. Kind of reminds me of "Funniest Home Videos" meets "C.O.P.S." (Which are sort of the same thing, I guess.) Hahaha!

I think 'tongue in cheek' is lost on some people; that said, folks need a better sense of humor! :)
